Why should Christians be respected?

All christians were at one time atheist, and the more liberal don't even believe in hell. Others that do feel God has some kind of provision for people like Ghandi. Mostly fundamental christians are represented here on yahoo. Also, those that do believe in hell might just be trying to tell you something for your own good. Hey, your house is on fire!
