Why don't democrats realize that McCain is the best that it gets? ?

While I plan to vote for McCain. I do not believe that he is the "best that it gets". I've seen better candidates run. I'm willing to vote for him as the lesser of two evils not because I think he is the best. I appreciate and honor McCain's Vet status - I'm proud of all vets and activity duty military personnel but running the country takes more than a vet status though.
